Blood banking refers to the process of collecting, separating, and storing of blood.

There are 3 main sections :

• Donation (receiving donors - clinical examination - drawing blood) .
• Components ( blood separation)
• Crossmatch (compatibility between donor & patient ) . https://t.co/TJbehgkTfS

Donation :

• receiving the donor : takes his card and recording his data .
• clinical examination : make sure the safety of the donor and measure his pulse, pressure, temperature, weight , and his Hemoglobin level in the blood.

3 blood samples are taken into :

• Serology lab ( to insure that the donor is free from hepatitis C / B & HIV & syphilis ) .
• Hematology lab ( to check if the patient has malaria ) .

Blood bank lab ( for ABO grouping / Rh ) .

Component :

In this section we separate the blood into :

• Packed RBCs .
• Plasma (cryo / FFP) .
• platelets .

Note :
